Meet Jackson
Director Dr. Jackson Redfern (Osteopath) graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor in Clinical Science and a Masters in Osteopathy. Since relocating to Brisbane he has worked in a private practice facility. The Reform Lab Osteopathy gives him the opportunity to utilise his skills, knowledge and passion to provide evidence based treatment and rehabilitation in the amazing exercise facility that is Project Reform. Jackson is always eager to learn more in the health, fitness and performance industry. Jackson is a qualified and certified strength and conditioning coach through the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association. The combination of using his clinical osteopathic qualifications as well as his strength and conditioning qualification, is a major reason Jackson and The Reform Lab Osteopathy are renowned for pain and injury management.
Jackson gained interest in injury and pain management from a young age when he played and competed in a variety of sports (from AFL to Ballet). After suffering his own injuries he saw the value in exercise and movement to overcome pain and adversity.
His evidenced based and scientific approach to treatment and management, ensures you always receive the most researched supported clinical treatment. Jackson’s goal is to empower you so you leave the clinic more educated and confident about your body.
Jackson has previously worked at the Western Jets Football Club who compete in the junior elite Victorian AFL under 18 competition. His work at the Western Jets gave him valuable experience in diagnosing, treating and managing various sporting injuries. Jackson has worked with a number of high level athletes at The Reform Lab to help best manage their injuries and improve performance. He most notably has worked with numerous players from the Brisbane Lions in the AFL/VFL competitions, as well as Collingwood Football Club. He also has worked with athletes from the Brisbane Bullets (NBL), Queensland Firebirds (Super Netball), Brisbane Roar (W-League), a 3 time Australian Winter Olympian, and has even been consulted to manage an international BMX athlete from Belgium.
Jackson is very passionate about treating the field and court based athlete, the running athlete, the dancing athlete and the regular gym based athlete. He also has a particular passion in helping pregnant women maintain and improve strength and function. Additionally, with his understanding on the importance of strength & conditioning for longevity, he really is passionate about helping guide individuals over 40 to an improved quality of life.
When he is not helping you feel your best, Jackson enjoys watching a variety of sports, keeping physically active by running, walking, hiking or training in the gym, drinking great coffee, and most importantly having a laugh. He loves people with a great sense of humour, so do not be afraid to have some banter with him.
He also recently returned to the competitive Australian rules football field, where he plays for Alexandra Hills. Jackson had a lengthy stint away from competitive sport due to suffering a devastating ACL and meniscus injury.
